Welcome to Day 20 of 25 Days of Vintage Summer and Patriotic Art!

This is one of those illustrations that when I bought it, I thought to myself, “I can’t wait to post this one!!”. It comes from a May 1937 cover of Woman’s Home Companion, which sadly went out of business in the late 1950′s. These magazines always have incredible artwork on the cover, especially from the publication’s heyday in the 1930′s – 1940′s. This particular illustration was created by Tommi Parzinger, who at the time was an up-and-coming illustrator and designer. Two years after he finished this piece he started his own furniture design company and had some very high-profile clients = like, Marilyn Monroe kind of high profile clients!
