Beautiful Halloween Moon and Owls Pumpkin Stencil
Welcome to Day 11 of 25 Days of Vintage Hallowe’en Art!
I’ve been WAITING to post this pumpkin stencil – because out of all the ones I’ve drawn up for 2012, this is my absolute favorite one of all. I’m already totally into moons (my first tattoo!) and vintage owls (my favorite to collect!), and this art is just so pretty. It comes from the 1920′s, when the Dennison company had a virtual monopoly on all things Halloween. This moon was sold as stickers, die cut decorations, and used as a theme on a number of Dennison’s party goods:
In fact, I love this one so much it is the one I am carving for myself this year. I ended up with about 15 pumpkins from my garden, and I’m going to be a little selfish and keep the biggest one. My kids can carve smaller pumpkins! 
I’ll share pictures of it once it is done.
