Woo-Hoo! Happy almost 4th of July! This image is one of the most patriotic of the entire series – and it is gorgeous! The bald eagle is painted by Robert Bruce Horsfall, one of the most prominent bird illustrators of the era. This Nature Magazine cover comes from July 1928. I love the super-bold red white and blue and the powerful look in that eagle’s eye – so pretty!
